ELLE: Describe your home’s aesthetic.
JRR: Very minimalist yet feminine. Lots of white and a mixture of vintage and modern.
ELLE: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
JRR: Disneyland!
ELLE: What is your favorite smell?
Julia Restoin-Roitfeld: The smell of hot sand, the ocean, and sunscreen. I have been wearing Aqua Motu from Comptoir Sud Pacifique for almost 15 years—and that’s what it reminds me of.
ELLE: What possession will you never throw away?
JRR: A gold ring with a small ruby I got from my grandmother that she got as a child from her father.
ELLE: What is the last dream you remember?
JRR: Last night I had a dream that a hairdresser chopped off all my hair into a bob, and I was trying to grow it back. It was more of a nightmare!
ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness?
