Live Video Low

Duluth’s Low have made a name for themselves by producing atmospheric, near-pastoral music driven by minimalist arrangements and slow tempos. The Minnesota trio are pioneers of the apathetically named “slowcore” genre, along with Red House Painters, Codeine, and acclaimed local act Carissa’s Wierd. While the “slowcore” term is almost universally frowned upon, Low’s music is anything but. United by the dual vocals of married couple Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, the band’s unique approach to the traditional rock setup results in stunningly gorgeous harmonies backed by meticulously arranged piano, bass, drums, and guitar. The band recently stopped by the KEXP studios for an intimate live performance of songs from their ninth album, C’mon, which is now available for your viewing pleasure.
